I, Madeleine David, am committed to providing you with the best possible customer service experience. Madeleine David / Plants & Love is bound by Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), which sets out a number of principles concerning the privacy of individuals.
Collection of Your Personal Information
There are many aspects of the site which can be viewed without providing personal information, however, for access to patient/client support features you are required to submit personally identifiable information.
If you choose to engage with me via this website, or choose to become my patient/client, I may ask to collect the following kinds of personal information from you, including:
– Name, date of birth, occupation, address, email, phone number
– Information about your requirements, and products or services that you may interested in
Information may be collected at booking, during consultations and at workshops. I may collect your personal information by various means including contact forms, if you email me, newsletter subscriptions, signing up for a seminar/workshop/event, in person at a seminar/workshop/event, or through online engagement.
Please be assured that I treat your personal information seriously and will only use it with your full awareness and consent, such as when you email me, tick a checkbox or fill in a form to provide me with that information. You will always have the option to opt out of any marketing material.
I understand that some personal information, such as your health information is particularly sensitive. I will only collect this information by methods that are reasonably secure, such as:
– Through my booking system or online intake form via Acuity when you book an appointment
– In an online (Zoom), phone or in-clinic consultation
– When you send me information in an email
The reason I collect this information is to provide you with the services you request such as consultations and treatment plans. In order to provide you with the most appropriate treatment that is both safe and effective, I require a thorough understanding of your health history, your medications, symptoms and family health history.
I am committed to securely storing and handling your sensitive information through my secure filing system and online on my password protected computer. As the practitioner responsible for your treatment, I am the only person who has access to your information. I do not collect sensitive information from children under the age of 18 without the presence of a parent/guardian or without their parent/guardian’s full consent. All information collected from minors is securely stored in accordance with this privacy policy.
Professional Considerations
As a Naturopath I have professional regulations that require me to practice strict patient/client confidentiality. You may choose not to provide your personal information, however, if you choose not to provide me with your personal or sensitive information I may not be able to provide you with the services that you request.
Sharing of Your Personal Information
If it happens that I have particular concerns about your health I will discuss it with you and with your consent I will contact your GP or another member of your health/medical team on your behalf, either in writing or over the phone. In order to provide you with services you have requested it is also necessary to share your personal details occasionally with some third party providers such as Vital.ly my online prescription service, Australia Post or other couriers that may deliver products you have ordered. Additionally, on occasion, an IT support specialist may be able to view your personal information while carrying out maintenance of the website. I, Madeleine David / Plants & Love take reasonable steps to ensure that these organisations/individuals are bound by confidentiality and privacy obligations in relation to the protection of your personal information.
I will also disclose your information if required to by law to do so or in circumstances permitted by the Privacy Act, for example, where I have reasonable grounds to suspect that unlawful activity, or misconduct of a serious nature, that relates to my services has occurred, is being or may be engaged in, and in response to a subpoena, discovery request or a court order. If you have any concerns regarding the disclosure of your personal information, please do not hesitate to discuss this with me personally.
I will use all reasonable means to protect the confidentiality of your personal information while in my possession or control. I will not knowingly share any of your personal information with any third party other than the service providers who assist me in providing the information and/or services I am providing to you. To the extent that I do share your personal information with a service provider, I would only do so if that party has agreed to comply with our privacy standards as described in this privacy policy.
Use of Your Personal Information
For each visitor to reach the website, we expressively collect the following non-personally identifiable information, including but not limited to browser type, version and language, operating system, pages viewed while browsing the website, page access times and referring website address. This collected information is used solely internally for the purpose of gauging visitor traffic, trends and delivering personalised content to you while you are at this website.

I, Madeleine David / Plants & Love reserve the right to make amendments to this Privacy Policy at any time. If you have objections to the Privacy Policy, you should not access or use the website.

You have a right to access your personal information, subject to exceptions allowed by law. If you would like to do so, please let us know. You may be required to put your request in writing for security reasons. Madeleine David / Plants & Love reserves the right to charge a fee for searching for, and providing access to, your information on a per request basis.

If a breach of this Privacy Policy occurs you may contact me by sending an email outlining your concerns and I will endeavour to respond within 48 hours. If you are not satisfied with my response to your complaint, you may seek a review by contacting the the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner using the information available at http://www.oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints, or the Health Complaints Commissioner.
